Contraindications

Not all treatments are for everyone. We are  professional and see your health and wellbeing as a serious matter.  Thank you for understanding in advance.

Conditions that prohibit this treatment:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Heart problems or diseases
• High blood pressure
• Cancer (all types)
• Kidney damage, diseases or problems
• Liver damage, diseases or problems
• Acute inflammatory processes
• Hemorrhagic disease, trauma or bleeding
• Medical plastic parts or parts with metal inside
• Immunodeficiency / abnormal immune system
• Undergoing chemotherapy or immune therapy
• Prednisone and other steroid medications (treatment will increase inflammation)
• Numb or insensitive to heat
• High blood pressure (uncontrolled)
• Diabetes (uncontrolled)
• Skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or rashes
• Active implanted device such as pacemaker or defibrillator
• HIV/AIDS
• Lupus

Conditions that will require the PCP or other medical physician's approval before treatments:

• Epilepsy
• Transplant Anti-Rejection Drugs
• Thyroid Disease
• Hypertension (High blood pressure treated with medication)
• Cancer Survivor – after 12 months (treatment will increase blood flow and cancer may spread within the body if they are not cleared)

Conditions that require a waiting period or require avoiding the surrounding area of the body:

• Recent surgery (wait 6 months)
• Recent scars (wait 6 months)
• Open lesions (avoid area)
• Skin diseases (avoid area)
• Infection (avoid area)
• Antibiotics (wait until course completed)
• Inflammation (avoid area)
• Varicose veins (avoid area)
• Prosthesis/silicone implants (avoid area)
• Metal implants/screws (avoid area)
• Menstrual Period (wait until after)
• IUD/Metal contraceptive coil (avoid area)
• Depilatory creams (wait 2 weeks)
• Areas being treated with IPL or Laser (wait 2 weeks)
• Areas being treated with botox (wait 3 months) or dermal fillers (wait 2 weeks)
• Sunburn (sun must be avoided the entire duration of the treatment regime)
• Chronic inflammation (depending on severity of chronic inflammatory conditions – consider that treatment will increase inflammation and anti-inflammatory medications reduce the effectiveness of the treatment – please discuss with your doctor first.

Common sense and your ‘gut feel’ is also important if you have concerns about getting the treatment.  If you have metal implants/screws but feels vibrations in those implants from treatment, let the technician know so that the treatment can be stopped.
